Sunday Snog

Welcome to Sunday Snog. This week a smooch from my novella, Burning Rubber, which features in the Wild Angels Anthology - available now from Totally Bound.

Burning Rubber by Lily Harlem

When trouble rides into town, what girl can resist the ultimate bad boy?

Handling men isn’t an issue for me. I’m not a girly girl and my best friends are the machines I spend my days fixing, tweaking and servicing. So when the Wild Angels roll onto my forecourt and need my help, I’m happy to be of assistance.

But I’ve always been a magnet for trouble and when the leader of the pack, Gid, questions my ability, I can’t help the sassy backchat. Seems it doesn’t bother him too much and before I know it, I’m climbing onto his beast and hanging on for the ride.

Bad ass guys like him don’t come without baggage, though, and it seems he wants to get rid of mine. Who am I to complain when it means revenge is hot, his body is hotter and we leave a trail of burning rubber as we head into the sunset? Biker girl, me? I guess it’s in the blood.

Reader Advisory: This book contains a scene involving mild breath play.

I tilted my chin. “You didn’t answer my question.”
“Why am I here?”
He unfolded his arms and stepped closer.
Damn, he was so fucking big and looked so out of place in my twee old lady home that was all flowery and pastel colours.
“I couldn’t ride away from you,” he said.
“Why not? I’m sure you’ve driven away from hundreds of women.”
“Yeah, but’’ve got a brain up there—a biker brain.” He tapped his head.
“So I know my way around an engine or two.”
Suddenly he reached out and grabbed me round my upper arms. He pushed me up against the wall and glared down at me.
Excitement and fear warred within me. I could see what he wanted now. It was in his eyes. He wanted me. He wanted me in a very basic, animalistic way.
“I might be a cunt,” he said, “but I ain’t into rape so you better tell me now, blondie. Do you want it or not, ‘cause Heaven help me, I’m about to lose control and then I’ll just fuck till we both go unconscious.”
So he wasn’t as good at ignoring an erection as he’d pretended to be. Well, that suited me, because my control was slipping. I’d been neglecting my body’s needs for too long.
I stared at his face, his flashing eyes and the way a small muscle flexed in his cheek.
“One word,” he said through gritted teeth. “Yes or no. No and I’ll go. You’ll never see me again, choose yes and I—”
“Yes, fuck it, yes, yes, yes—”
His mouth hit down on mine, hard. Our teeth clashed and his tongue shoved forward. A thrill shot through me. What had I done? What had I unleashed?
His hands were everywhere, as though he wanted to touch me all over at once but didn’t know where to start. He lifted my bra, shoving it upwards so that my breasts bulged out underneath it.
My flesh felt alive—everywhere he explored was sparking with sensation. He tweaked my nipples, hard then harder.
I groaned at the sweet torment, clutched his shoulders and pulled him close.
But he had too many clothes on. If we were going to do this I wanted him naked, I wanted it all.

If you just want to get your hands on my story, Burning Rubber it's out as an individual read on the 2nd of January. Thanks for stopping by Sunday Snog and have a great day.

Sexy Down the Avenue ~ #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #MSSAuthors

Welcome to My Sexy Saturday. This week a snippet from Caught on Camera, my new MM serial. Part One is out on 26th December and what's more it's FREE! Head on over to the Caught on Camera page at Totally Bound and get all the details!

Part One is set in a lovely old Georgian house in London that's full of period furniture and features. Reece is a decorator and Cade is in charge of the wonderful garden. But remember the saying 'while the cats away the mice will play'? Well in this case it's when the owners are out, the boys get up to some seriously sexy mischief in the outdoor pool.

Cade shoved his jeans down and kicked them off. He lay them roughly over the back of the chair he’d been sitting on then headed towards the pool. As he went he pushed at his boxers and revealed his tight arse that was a shade paler than the rest of his skin. He kept on walking as the boxers slid down his legs then stepped out of his underwear without pausing. He left the boxers bunched on the lawn dead centre in one of the pale green stripes he’d created.
Reece felt his jaw slacken. Fuck the guy was brazen. He just went for it.
“Gotta go in naked,” Cade called, “otherwise you’ll have wet boxers beneath your jeans making a damp patch and giving the game away.”
“Yeah, makes sense,” Reece replied. He was getting harder by the minute. The sight of the abandoned boxers and Cade’s long, muscular body was enough to have his balls aching and his arsehole clenching.
“Come on,” Cade shouted. “All work and no play makes Reece a dull boy.”
“What about the lawn? You haven’t finished…”
“Fuck it. I’ll do it later.” He reached the pool and dived in creating a white burst of water that splashed upwards and made waves across the surface.
“Oh, bloody hell,” Reece said, quickly slipping the straps of his overalls off then scooting down the trousers. Beneath he wore red boxers, fake Calvin Klein’s from the market, but he had no intention of removing them, not yet, not until he was safely by the pool.
God, was he really going to do this?

Love Repeated By Nancy Corrigan

Young lovers, Kyle and Ronnie, had the world ahead of them at seventeen. Stubbornness, misunderstanding and a mother’s influence forced them to forge their own paths. A decade later, neither can find love.

Ronnie always thought it was easier to move on than deal with the pain and hurt of past mistakes. She made plenty of them, but so did Kyle and her parents. Kyle knows the moment he touches Ronnie that he still loves her. He won’t repeat the past and let her leave him a second time.

It takes a tragedy and a secret to reunite them, but their passion returns in a rush along with regret and guilt. To have love, they’ll have to overcome their issues—before her mother’s sin takes Ronnie away, once and for all.

“I want to kiss you, Ronnie.”
She swept the tip of her tongue out, moistening her mouth and tempting him to feast. “Are you asking permission, or—”
He leaned closer and caught her bottom lip between his teeth, stopping her words. Her shaky exhale washed over him, filling his lungs with the scent of cinnamon. The long-denied craving for her taste surged. She’d always chewed on cinnamon gum or mints. The taste used to drug him. Would it still? She’d been his favorite addiction a lifetime ago.
He grasped the back of her neck and licked the inside of her lip. Her flavor hit him, a punch in the gut he welcomed. It left him a little crazed and a lot horny. On a groan, he kissed her. She opened to him, stroking her tongue with his and feeding him her soft mewling noises, those little purrs of contentment she’d always offered him whenever they first came together. He soaked them up along with the rightness kissing her brought.
She complemented his thrusts and licks with ones of her own. They’d perfected the art of kissing years before they’d ever joined their bodies. It had been his favorite hobby. He’d never been able to get enough. He still couldn’t. Head angled, he delved deeper and sucked on her tongue, tearing moans from her throat.
She twisted her torso and linked her hands around his neck. Nails dug into his skin, she tugged him closer, kissed him harder, and tore his tenacious control to shreds. He rocked into her and let his hands roam over her soft, curvy body.
Primitive hungers beat at him. He wanted to strip her and lick every inch, memorizing her swells and valleys. Maybe spread her thighs and get drunk on her sweet sex. Or push her to her knees and pump into her mouth until he exploded. So many images rose, but it was the need to possess her that made his decision.
He tore his mouth from hers. She panted hard. So did he. The lust they’d shared returned, stronger than ever. He couldn’t wait a moment more.
He rubbed his forefinger over her lips, then slipped it between them. Her breath heated his skin. She closed her mouth over his finger. With a swirl of her tongue, she drew him deeper and held him there for a long moment before she sucked. Hard.
His dick jerked. Precum seeped from the tip. He yanked on his finger, but she bit just to the point of pain, stopping him. His breath escaped in a shudder. He dragged the digit out, her teeth scraping him, and cupped her face between his palms.
“I’m going bend you over your car, lift your skirt, and fuck you, Ronnie. If you have some guy that’s going to hunt me down for making you come all over my dick, tell me now.” He flashed her a wicked smile. “And I’ll make you writhe over my tongue instead.”

Author Bio

A true romantic at heart, Nancy Corrigan is convinced there’s a knight in shining armor for every woman (or man), but you won’t find damsels in distress in her stories. She adores pairing alpha heroes with woman strong enough to match them and bring them to their knees. She also enjoys flipping the traditional roles in romances because her motto is—love and people should never be forced to conform to anyone’s norm.
She holds a degree in chemistry and has worked in research but now focuses on ensuring quality. She considers it the perfect outlet for her as she’s the first to admit she has some OCD tendencies. It carries over into her writing life too. While engrossed in a novel, she has a habit of forgetting to eat and sleep. Fortunately, she’s married to her own knight in shining armor who understands her oddities and loves her anyway. They reside in Pennsylvania with their three children, dog, snake and guinea pigs. Her other interests include tattoos, animals, classic cars and all things spooky and sexy.

Grand Slam

Grand Slam, by myself and Lucy Felthouse, has a great You Tube review from book reviewer Deanna Lang.

Here's the low down on Grand Slam which is featured on the Raw Talent website.

California had seduced me with promises of a new life working at Los Carlos Tennis Academy. What I didn’t expect was the dark, brooding number one seed, Travis Connolly, resisting my help. He wasn’t interested in my psychology skills, instead his attention was drawn to the edgy, sharper corners of my desires, proving that they existed, setting me challenges and driving me crazy to the point of combustion.

I’m the best tennis player in the world—officially—so why would I need a damn woman full of psychobabble to get me on form? Despite my irritation however, I couldn’t resist pushing Marie Sherratt’s buttons even though doing that showed her the darkest shades of my lust, the parts of me I buried deep. So I set her a challenge, one she rose to, one that had me rising too, and before long my game was relying on her calling the shots, hitting the target and bending to my will. One thing was certain, being not just master of the court, but also of Marie was seriously good for my soul.

Janine Ashbless - special guest

Please welcome my friend and fellow author Janine Ashbless to my blog today - Janine has an amazing new novel out that I can't wait to lose myself in. Here are the details…

If You Loved an Angel... How Far Would You Fall with Him?

What happens when the daughter of the village priest falls in love with an archangel banished from heaven? Milja’s heart is struck when she catches a glimpse of the preternaturally beautiful prisoner her father keeps captive beneath his church’s altar. Torn between tradition, loyalty and her growing obsession with the fallen angel, will Milja risk losing her family, and her eternal soul, for the love of this divine being? Janine Ashbless will transport you to a world where good and evil battle for true love.

Ten things I learned writing “Cover him with Darkness” by Janine Ashbless

1. Orthodox Christians cross themselves backwards

Compared to Catholics that is – though in fact the Orthodox right-to-left version is older by many centuries.  Actually I had to do quite a lot of research on Orthodoxy for Cover Him with Darkness, and though this sounds utterly trivial to an outsider, the direction-of-crossing turns out to be pretty significant for two of my characters…

2. Montenegro is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe, and more people should go there as tourists to appreciate it.

Having set the start of my book there, I had to visit on holiday for the sake of research! It’s just amazing: hot Mediterranean coastline, a vast fjord, Alpine meadows and craggy snow-capped mountain – all within a tiny country the size of Wales.

3. Nobody can agree how many archangels there are

Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox (of various types), Muslims, medieval kabbalists, Renaissance occultists … they’ve all got angel lists with different numbers, different names, and different roles.

4. Montenegrins are the tallest people in Europe

Well possibly (there’s some argument for first place with the Dutch), but with a mean at around 6ft for men across all age groups including the elderly, they are pretty bloody tall … and very proud of it too!

5. The Israelites in the Old Testament were told to sacrifice a goat to a fallen angel every year.

The annual scapegoat ritual on the Day of Atonement, wherein a goat was symbolically heaped with the sins of the people and thrown out to die in the wilderness, was quite specific: ‘And Aaron shall place lots upon the two he-goats: one lot "For the Lord," and the other lot, "For Azazel” … The goat on which the lot fell for Azazel shall be presented alive before the LORD to make atonement over it, that it may be sent away into the wilderness to Azazel."’ (Lev 16:8-10)

6. I like hot guys tied up and angry

No further comment necessary, I feel…

7. Satan isn’t evil in the Old Testament

Actually Satan (who is all over the shop in the Gospels, and repeatedly reviled in the Letters of Paul) barely appears at all in the Old Testament. Nor do those hoards of possessing demons. When he does show up it is the Book of Job, where he is very much a part of the Court of Heaven. His name/title means “The Adversary” and his role seems to have as been a kind of prosecuting council, rooting out hidden sin. He’s very much doing the will of God.
Somewhere in the centuries of exile between the Old and the New Testaments, Jewish theology changed a LOT.

If you’re thinking “What about the Garden of Eden episode then?” – go back and read it. There’s nothing in Genesis or the OT to identify ‘the serpent’ as Satan, or indeed an angel of any kind. It is literally a talking animal. Everything else is meaning that has accreted from later commentators.

8. There are ‘giants’ trapped inside mountains all over the world
Prometheus in Greece, Amirani in Georgia, Loki in Scandinavia, Hobbomock in Connecticut, Finn MacCool in Ireland, Montezuma in Arizona … if they ever all wake up and get out, it’ll make one heck of a mess.

9. About 70,000 years ago, humans nearly went extinct. And it was really good for us as a species.

They reckon, looking at the genetic evidence, that the human population was reduced to maybe only 3000+ people. And in the years following that point there was an explosion in brand new human creativity – art; music; ritual; cooking food for the first time; fishing and hunting and pottery technology – all our cultural achievements seem to have kicked off after that bottleneck. You’ve got to wonder what happened!

10. I really can’t write 10,000 words a day, like some authors urge

No, not even when holed up in a locked room with no TV, no communication with the outside world and all the coffee I can drink. Even when I know exactly where the plot is going and I’m brimming with enthusiasm. I think I once made it to 4K. I have to accept that I’m a slow writer.
