Eroticon 2014

So another Eroticon has been and gone and to be honest they just get better. There is always a great variety of workshops, new people to meet and of course mayhem. Massive thanks to Ruby for all her hard work organising this amazing UK event.

The Brit Babes mayhem started on Friday night with champagne and strawberries as we celebrated being together. Our excitement was tangible and with music playing and corks popping we were soon recovered from our journeys.

(Brit Babes - Kay Jaybee, Kd Grace, Lucy Felthouse, Victoria Blisse, Tabitha Rayne, Lexie Bay and myself were present, Emmy Ellis sadly couldn't make it.)

Tabitha Rayne gave me the original of a drawing she'd drawn especially for me. I love it, and it's certainly going in a frame. It's titled A Quiet Night In.

We walked our sexy butts (because I'm telling you, these gals are hawt!) along the river bank and up the road to Browns where we had a fabulous meal in fabulous surrounding. That was then topped off with late night chatter in the hotel bar. We were 'sort of' sensible, but it still ended up wine-infused and pretty late!

The next morning saw us up and raring to go, excitement sweeping away any cobwebs from the night before. I was thrilled to arrive and find masses of the ETO magazine on the front table and super pleased with the three page spread on self-publishing that I have in there.

You'll notice on the top right hand side of this picture is something that looks suspiciously like a spanking stick - well you'd be correct in that assumption. The awesome Rennee Rose brought a ton of these happy slappy sticks all the way from the USA and they proved to be quite a hit - excuse the pun - with everyone!

Workshops kicked off in style and with plenty of pots of tea around I was a happy chick, flitting from one lecture to another and scribbling notes in the lovely pad my pal Victoria Blisse gave me. Oh, Brit Babe coaster and badge too, plus a garter from my swag bag!

I hung out with Lucy Felthouse, Brit Babe and one of my co-authors, for a while, she was manning a Smut book stall and being as fabulous as ever.

Phew, it was all go so I then took a break with Tabitha and Lexie Bay - break being a dash around the corner to a pub where wine was consumed (again) and three super-duper plot ideas were dreamed up, come on ladies, we promised to write these novels!

That evening, after a delicious meal of posh pie and chips on a table that was reserved for the Brit Babes but we brought friends - Ashley Lister, Kevin 'Mitnik' Blisse, Janine Ashbless, Vida Bailey, MK ElliotJacqueline Brocker gosh I'm sure we squeezed even more on to that long table but my memory fails me…

Fed and ready for more action we dusted off our frocks and headed to the Elephant Pub - hi to the barmen who coped admirably with a scribble of erotica authors turning up in sky-high spirits! It was a hot, frantic, chatter filled evening that I would happily do all over again and not change a thing!

However the next morning I perhaps wouldn't have had that last glass of wine…

So to kick-start the day I got myself a couple of books. The Mammoth Book of Gorgeous Guys is fabulous, loads of inspiration for my next heroes, and a Maxim anthology is always a must.

It was time then for Kristina Lloyd's session on Flash Fiction, which was of course brilliant and I came up with a short story called Elephant's Breath - it's still a baby but I will write it. Kristina also gave us a new twist on traditional bingo…

Lunch and several more workshops and I then had time for one final session with Josephine Myles and Anna Martin - you just can't beat the titles of these sessions - and then it was time for me to walk right out of town and back to Mr Harlem.

In summary another fun-filled, inspiring and exhausting Eroticon that has left me plotting and planning and missing the folk who journeyed from all over the globe to enjoy this gathering of erotica authors and bloggers. Mwahh, you're all brilliant. XX

  4. Oh boy-oh-boy! What a weekend! So good to hang out and share fun, ideas and inspiration - not to mention a bottle...or two... or was it three? x x x

  5. LOL - I think three would be the most accurate estimation. Loved that spit-and-sawdust pub we found. That poor guy behind us coped admirably with the invasion and all those swishing spanking sticks! His expression didn't change once!

  7. Oh god, I'm going to get sued by Farrow and Ball and we're both going to go to jail! I forgot to mention some of their paint names are trademarked. And you picked one of their more famous ones - Elephant's Breath is not for bad girls like Lily!

Would love to know how an elephant might feature in your erotica though.

Super post - always fascinating to hear what others got up to. Such a great weekend!

    1. Argh @ copyright. I do remember now seeing the little © on some colours, and typical, trust me to pick a famous one, I guess it shows it's a nice image. Perhaps 'The' Elephant's Breath would work, or The Painted Elephant's Breath. I'll have to get inventive…

Yes, it was a great weekend, so many things to think about and so many lovely people I wish I'd had more time to chat to.

  10. It's super cool that some of the delegates, like yourself, Renee travel so far and it was absolutely fabulous to meet you. I loved your sticks, endless amusement, not least because I keep imagining UK customs wondering what on earth they were for, the sheer quantity being particularly amusing.

Hope to catch up with you again in the future…
