Special Halloween Guest Marissa Farrar

Please welcome my very dear friend Marissa Farrar to my blog. I'm completely thrilled to have her here on Halloween as she is somewhat of an expert on all things paranormal and while she's mixing up plots and sexy characters she's making it all super hot too. So grab yourself a glass of pumpkin wine, put up your feet, get the black cat on your lap and read on

Sexy Werewolves!
Marissa Farrar

Several years ago, while writing a blog post, I quipped that I preferred vampires to werewolves because who the hell would want dog hair in their bed? Fast forward a number of years, and I’m older and wiser. While I still love my vampires, I have also developed a keen appreciation of all things shifter.

My initial encounter of werewolves came from the movie ‘In the Company of Wolves.’ An extremely unsuitable boyfriend at the time—older, long hair, tattoos, basically every teenage girls’ dream—introduced me to the movie. It’s dark and sexy, and I highly recommend it for a classic horror movie this Halloween.
But recently werewolves have been hitting the big time, and producing some rather gorgeous werewolf types out of it. Here’s a list of my top five!

  1. Alcide from True Blood. Now this is one hot werewolf! While I didn’t like where the show took his character, I was quite happy watching along for all of the naked chest (and everything else) shots. Eric (Alex Skarsgard) will always be my favourite, but Alcide ran a close second!

  2.   Derek from Teen Wolf. Dark and smouldering, and not always on the right side of good, Derek was the main Alpha, and still is in my eyes. He makes Scott seem like a puppy-dog in comparison.

  3.   Peter Rumenack from Hemlock Grove. Okay, I know I have a thing about the Skarsgard family (Bill, who plays Peter’s best friend, Roman, on the show is Alex’s (Eric from True Blood) little brother), and while I do think Roman overshadowed Peter’s character slightly, I still fell for Peter’s long haired, blue eyed, gypsy/werewolf ways.

  4. Jacob Black from Twilight. He’s a little on the young and sweet side for me, but I couldn’t not include him! He’s another one who we never mind if he takes his shirt off, but Jacob, I do wish you hadn’t cut your hair!

  5.  Michael Corvin from Underworld. The best part of Micheal was the romance that went with his character. While Jacob Black had the simpering Bella as potential girlfriend material, Michael had the kick ass Selene. It takes a whole lot of man—I mean werewolf—to handle a woman like that!

So there’s my list. Who are your favourite werewolves? And if you want to check out my own version of werewolf hotness, including some well built, long-haired, tattooed shifters, please check out my Spirit Shifters series. There are currently three books in the series, with book four to be released in December. Book One, Autumn’s Blood, is free across most ebook sites!

Out Now - Halloween Menage a Trois!

Life in London as a butcher girl is hard enough, but when my best friend Denny goes missing without a trace it becomes miserable. So finding clues to his whereabouts and then stumbling one foggy morning into the Worshipful Company of the Ancient Order is like a breath of fresh air. Not least because sexy sophisticated Aimery has promised to help me when no one else will.

But Aimery has a best friend and it seems Ryle wants in on the action. My head begins to spin, my body reacting to theirs whenever I'm around them. But there are questions I need answering. What is their obsession with my rare blood type? How do they always appear just when I need them? And exactly how old are they?

Learning the truth about my lovers brings new fears and delights. They take me higher than I’ve ever gone before, show me delights I never imagined existed and are prepared to kill to keep me safe. Being mortal has never been so much fun, or so deliciously dangerous.

This book is a sequel to Bite Mark; to ensure full enjoyment of this book, please read Bite Mark first.

Being married to two sexy vampires is as exciting as it is dangerous. One minute I’m on top of the world, the next I’m running for my life. But it’s okay with Aimery and Ryle at my side—they’ve sworn to love and protect me and keep me satisfied until I’m old and gray.

But when everything crashes down, literally, I can see no way out of the darkness—death my best option. Until two unusual men come bounding to my aid.

Gentle Caleb and prickly Isaac have secrets. They’re full of passion, desire, love and lust and their isolated lives are weaved with mystery. But I know what they are. I’m also craving some serious satisfying, a distraction from my dilemma, and it seems these guys are up for the job.

Will my life always be turbulent, terrifying and tempting beyond belief? Nothing is certain in a world of vampires and shifters.

Breathe You In - Discount Price!

Breathe You In is on offer for a limited time only

Breathe You In was named a USA Today Reviewer's Recommended Read of 2013 and has claimed many 5* reviews.

Here is the latest Amazon reader review…

Lily Harlem is becoming my best author discovery of 2014. After all, she introduced me to M/F/M romance, a genre I avoided without having read even a single line of it.

In Breath You In, (not M/F/M) the love story is tender, sexy and sweet. But it is also so emotional that it brings tears to your eyes, while it gets you laughing through those tears at the same time. It touches you. The depth of characters make me envious that I’m not the author who sculpted them with such craft and perfection. There are erotic writers galore out there, but Lily Harlem has an unreachable niche all of her own. I’m glad I discovered Ms Harlem’s territory. I’ve migrated and here to stay.

Sunday Snog

Welcome to Sunday Snog! Here is a snippet from The Glass Knot my mmf novel set in the beautiful Cotswolds.

Once again the sun worshipped him, lovingly touching each perfect muscle and tendon. Highlighting bulging biceps and the sinewy tendons of his neck. It made me want to worship him too, lick every square inch that I could, and then get hold of his cock and…
Oh, fuck. I have to get out of here.
I did six more shots and lowered my camera. “I think that’s plenty.”
“You sure?”
“Yes, maybe you’d like some pictures outside, in the garden?”
So I can get some air.
I fiddled with the zoom. My pussy was thrumming. I should have brought Rocky then I could have disappeared into the bathroom for some alone time. Sorted out the ache between my legs.
“No.” His voice was firm and deep.
I lifted my head.
There was something in his eyes that made me freeze. I’d seen that look before. It was raw and hungry. The soft, caring, relaxed expression of moments ago had gone. Josh was thinking about something dirty, sexy and…carnal.
I know him better than I thought.
“I don’t want to go in the garden. I want to stay in here.”
“Oh, do you want me to get Nick?”
“No.” His lips tightened and he stepped closer.
“But, er, maybe I could do some pictures of the pair of you together.”
“No, that’s not what I want.” He reached out and lifted the thin leather camera strap over my head.
Just the brush of his fingertips on my neck sent more lust raging through me. But this was crazy. There was nothing between Josh and I. There couldn’t be. For Nick’s sake there couldn’t be.
He set my camera on a hay bale then loomed back over me.
I stared up at him. The dim light and the silence seemed to weave a spell around us, a spell that made it only us. The air was thick with dust, palpable with desire. His eyes were locked with mine, and a slow growing realization crept over me.
He’s looking down at me like he wants a repeat performance of our wildest moment in Spain.
“Lord help me,” he mumbled, dropping his head closer still, until his breaths breezed over my face.
The unthinkable, the impossible was about to happen. He was going to kiss me, and I was going to let him, despite my promise to Nick.
No I can’t do that. I’m not a bitch.
“Laura, I can’t stop thinking about you, about us. I just need to…I want…”
I despaired with myself, didn’t think I could stoop to such depths of self-destruction. Drop myself into a pit where I knew guilt would eat me alive. But I was going to. Josh could do whatever he wanted and take whatever he needed. His words, the desire in his eyes, it was like showing a red rag to a bull. “Yes,” I said.
The decision had made itself.
I flung my arms around his neck at the same time as he dragged my body to his. Our mouths connected in a frantic, desperate kiss. Tongues racing and searching, lips starving as we fed off each other.
He let out a low, triumphant sound, like a growl. It made the hairs on the back of my neck rise. All sane thoughts left me. I was in Josh’s arms, he was all I wanted, and judging by the long hard bulge jutting into my stomach, he wanted me too.

Escape to the Country

Escape to the Country was one of the first novellas I had published and I still love it. It's really dirty but also deliciously romantic!

Check out this excerpt, and if it tickles your fancy you can buy it from Totally Bound, Amazon/Amazon UK and all other other good ebook retailers.

Jane sat next to me during dinner, and a few times, her knee pressed against mine. I didn’t move—I kept it there. I liked us being physically connected, even if it was accidental. Smelling her exotically spiced perfume, listening to the way she formed her vowels and feeling her body heat radiating onto my bare arm had me squirming with a need Tim had been unable to fulfil.
As the meal came to an end and people wandered off to the bathroom and went to replenish drinks, Jane leant her head to mine. I wondered if she was going to mention Tim and I fucking in the pool and braced myself to apologise.
“Can you help me with dessert, Annie?” Her silken voice glided down my neck on a burning hot breath. “It's Eaton Mess—the ice cream needs scooping and the strawberries need washing.”
“Sure.” I smiled, standing and gathering up plates. “No problem.”
I wandered into the kitchen with the stack of plates nestled against my white vest. “Oh, bloody hell,” I muttered as I piled them next to the sink. A line of red sauce had bled from the plates to my top. “Do you mind if I go and change?” I said, turning to Jane.
“Go ahead.” She smiled. “It’ll take a few minutes for the ice cream to soften anyway.
I wandered up the narrow staircase and into the bedroom Tim and I were sharing. It was a cute room with sloping ceilings and a small wardrobe built into the far wall. Everything was floral—the carpet, the wallpaper, the bedding. A total overload of flowers of every different size, shape and colour, but somehow, it worked, and I was looking forward to sleeping on the cast iron bed and waking up to the sound of birds.
I changed my top to a small green vest which hugged my breasts tighter than the other one, but still went with my white gypsy skirt. I re-glossed my lips, added a squirt of perfume and ran a brush through my curls.
Heading onto the landing, I noticed the room at the end of the corridor was still in darkness. The door was pushed up, nearly but not quite shut. I was about to turn away when I heard a long low groan my curiosity simply couldn’t ignore. It was a deep belly noise, like an uncontrolled spasm from a vibrating chest.
I stepped silently up to the door. Flicked my head across the gap and tried not to think how mortified I’d be if anyone caught me nosing in darkened rooms.
My eyes widened as my head filled with the scene looming out of the dimness.
Matt stood with his back pressed against the far wall, his jeans heaped around his ankles, head tipped towards the ceiling and eyes screwed tight shut. Kneeling before him was Carl. I couldn’t see his face, but I knew it was him. I knew it was Carl, and I knew what he was doing to Matt.
Matt’s hands were locked over Carl’s ears, moving his head backwards and forwards in time with the frantic thrusts of his hips. “Shit, yes, that’s it,” he hissed. “Get fucking ready for it.”
Carl’s giving Matt a blow job. That phrase ran through my head twenty times a second for the next two seconds. I really hadn’t seen that coming. Carl’s giving Matt a blow job. Carl’s giving Matt a blow job.
Matt’s head levelled and his shoulders hunched forward. His lips pulled back in an animal like snarl and he froze with his hips pushed deep against Carl’s face.
Quickly, I stepped away. After he’d finished coming down Carl’s throat, Matt would open his eyes and see me watching from the doorway. I didn’t know which one of us would be the most mortified—me probably.
I turned and came face to face with Jane.
“Hi, Annie,” she said quietly. “I came to see if you needed to borrow a top.”
“I...I... No, I’m fine, thanks.” I struggled to drag in a breath.
Her gaze slipped to my chest. My breasts were heaving like mounds of jelly and the wobbling flesh threatened to spill over its containment. “I like that top better than the other one,” she said, her eyes not moving from where they’d settled.
“I...just... Shall we go and sort out dessert?” I was keen to get her away from the image of her husband getting a blow job from another man.
“No, I think we’ll stay up here.” She lifted a stray curl from my breast and held it between her thumb and index finger. “I like it up here, just you and me.”

Soul-aching desire was just the beginning!

If the road to Heaven starts in Hell then I was ready to start climbing my way out and Ruben Strong was the man to accompany me. With his devastating good looks, seductively sexy charm and lust for adrenaline he was sure to make it a sensual and erotic experience as well as one to re-awake the passionate, throw-caution-to-the-wind woman I’d once been.

I’d given Ruben something, though, without him realizing, and that gift had come from the man I’d loved before. But I couldn’t tell Ruben. I had to keep that a tight secret even as our naked bodies wound together, sought out pleasure and hit the dizzy heights of ecstasy as one. Because Ruben had my husband’s heart, literally, and that heart was still in love with me, so it seemed, and now I was in love with Ruben.

Emotions tangled with bliss, and fears were locked away as I surrendered to the touch of Ruben’s hands, the taste of his skin and the sounds of his pleasure. I couldn’t deny that Ruben had brought me back to life the same way I had him and there was no way I was giving up that feeling, not for anyone.

Breathe You In was named a USA Today Reviewer's Recommended Read of 2013

Excerpt

It seemed hardly no time had passed when the plates were cleared away and the disco music started.
“Please all circle the floor for the first dance,” the DJ called through his microphone.
Ruben took my hand, and we wandered to the outer rim of the large rectangular dance floor. Red, yellow, and blue spotlights spun around us as the first bars of an old, haunting U2 song, With or Without You, strummed out.
The crowd around us increased as Felicity and Neil embraced and began to sway to the music, eyes only for each other. Ruben slipped behind me to make room for someone smaller than him to see.
The bass guitar rumbled through my chest, its rhythm as familiar as a heartbeat. This had been Matt’s favorite song out of all the U2 ones he’d adored. I remembered sitting on his shoulders when it had played at the first concert he’d taken me to.
“Who sings this?” Ruben asked, winding his arms around my waist and pulling my back into his chest.
I tilted my chin and twisted to reply. “U2. It’s really old, though.”
“It’s good. I don’t know much of their stuff, I’m more of a Coldplay and Oasis kind of guy, but this…”
“You should get into them, I’ve got all of their music.”
“Can I borrow it?”
“Sure.”
He touched his lips to my temple, and as I listened to the song I melted into him, his support welcome. I was glad of the darkness, though. The words, living with or without someone, had created a ripple effect on my tightrope. It was like someone had given it a twang and it took all my efforts to stay steady.
I watched Felicity turn her head and smile at something Neil was whispering in her ear. A new memory for them, a perfect moment. I made it one of mine, too, and solidified my emotional stability.
The song came to an end, and I found myself tugged farther onto the dance floor. “Time for our first dance,” Ruben said, gathering me close.
I slipped my hands over his shoulders and linked my fingers at his nape. “And a perfect song for us,” I said, smiling as The Police started up with Every Breath You Take.
“Mmm.” He touched his lips to mine and planted several delicate kisses that made me fall into him all the more. Ruben’s taste, the way he made me feel, his arms around me, was like an addiction. Luckily it seemed he felt the same way about me and we were happy to feed each other what we needed.
He tucked a loose tendril of hair behind my ear, spun me one-eighty, and I smiled up at him.
“You’re doing so well, today,” he said.
“What do you mean?”
“A wedding, it must be hard not to think of your own.”
“Yes, it is. But I have you here, and the difference that’s made is incredible. I feel like Katie around my friends again. I’m not sad and lonely and trying to cover it up with fake smiles. They can see that I’m happy and they don’t need to feel guilty for their own happiness. Does that make sense?”
“Yes, it’s like a domino effect when people feel sorry for you. The brighter you try and be, the more sympathy they project which in turn makes you feel worse inside.”
I loved it that he understood me so well. It made everything so much simpler. “That’s right.” I slid my hands down from his shoulders, settled them on his chest. He took my left one in his.
“Do you think you ever would again?” he asked.
“What do you mean?”
“Get married.”
“I’ve never thought about it.” I’d thought about a future with Ruben, but marriage? “Why? Are you asking?” I smiled.
“Let’s just say I’m dipping my toe into the marriage pond to see what the temperature is.”
I laughed. “That’s a really silly analogy.”
He grinned. “But it made you laugh and that’s what thrills me the most.” He pressed our joined hands into his chest, over his heart. “But seriously, Katie. A minute without you is a wasted minute, and I for one know time should never be wasted.”
“I feel the same,” I said, looking into his eyes that were reflecting the fragments of bright lights bouncing around us.
“So we should do something about that.”
“What are you suggesting?”
“Move in with me. My flat is big enough for the two of us. And I want to wake up with you every morning, go to sleep with you in my arms every night. It just makes so much sense to be together.”
I’d been moving gently to the music but stopped. “Really? Are you serious?”
“Absolutely. I’m in love with you, Katie, and I can’t bear to be apart from you. You’ve completely stolen my heart.”
“And you mine,” I said, curling my hand around the back of his head and pulling him closer. “I’m so in love with you,” I breathed onto his mouth. “And yes, I want you to be the first person I see each morning and the one I kiss goodnight.”
“So that’s a yes?” He gave a tentative smile.
“Oh, yes, a big fat yes with icing and cherries on the top.”
We kissed, in front of all of my friends, people who’d seen me with another man on my wedding day, seen me become a shell of myself after his death and now rise from the flames like a phoenix. I was so happy I wanted to burst with joy.
But I’d settle for getting naked and sweaty.
